Something in the air this morning made me feel like flying. . . ” ~ Eileen Granfors
Do you remember 3D computer-animated comedy-adventure film UP. One of it’s main attractions was that makeshift airship house of older Carl Fredricksen. He used thousands of colorful vibrant helium balloons to lift his house off its foundation.
When You see this picture, don’t you want to be inside that house. Being inside an aeroplane so too mainstream but inside a flying house? Now we are talking. I want to party in it with all my family members and close friends :D. Alsa! That is again not possible. A fantasy is after all a fantasy but dining up in the air is still possible and that too in open, just like you are on air, without any boundaries. That’s where I am going to host my weekend party, Up in the air… on a ‘Dinner in the Sky’ restaurant.
‘Dinner in the sky’ restaurant is one of the most unusual mobile restaurant. It uses a crane to hoist its diners, table, and waiting staff 150 feet into the air. Since the restaurant is mobile and we can choose any location to rent it, I am choosing the Trocadero gardens, Eiffel tower Paris. It will be lit by candles and lanterns, many classic lanterns from 19th century turning the surroundings amber.
Theme and entertainment:
We will be recreating 19th century Royal India up in the sky, so every guest is requested to gear up in classic formal attire. Ladies have many options ranging from sari to ghagra, gents can wear sherwani, kurta etc.
Party will start from the garden, all the guests will be received with a welcome Hamper (Gourmet India recipe CD – A timeless collection of authentic Indian recipes) Afterwards welcome drinks will be served. The evening will be jweled by a classical dance performance by ‘Kalyan kathak kendra‘ academy and a Bharatanatyam performance by a friend of mine. There will be a very esteemed group specialized in Indian classical music playing live gazals and classical songs.
Food will be served Up in the air and I will be the Chef tonight. I know how to cook but I am not that good and getting authentic classic flavors to my dishes will be beyond the bounds of possibility hence I will be cooking the Ready-to-cook gourmet dishes of Kitchen’s of India from the house of ITC. (It’s a secret, Shhh! Don’t tell anyone)
