Dear Kite

I am holding the string tight

Of you, my dear kite

In my small palm

It’ll never break

& I won’t let it go,

But you are free

Free to roam in limitless sky

talk to clouds that floats by,

But when it’s time,

You’ll come back to me

not Because am pulling you

but because am holding

the string made of our love

connecting us everywhere

Am holding it tight

Of you, My dear KiTe

  1. As long as you control it, you are good..
This was a delightful poem, girl!!
And for some reason, it reminded me of The Kite Runner.. 🙂

    Loved both the reads!!!

    Keep versing..

  2. This made me think of when I was a child flying a kite by myself, I was holding on so tight cause I was afraid to lose it, and I remember it was pulling hard. A tough job for a small boy, but I was determined. Thanks for the memories.

  3. Literally I wish I could fly a kite like that (I’ve tried and I stink on ice :P, never mind 😛 ). And the figurative sense, love it how you say, you are just holding on to the love and not controlling the person. I for one, believe thats what love is about. If you don’t know freedom, you don’t know love..!! 😉

    1. lol Ilakya…
trust me I never did it myself but when I was watching the movie KITES, I felt it could say more then its tag line… I mean the kites… I associated it with love and reunion instead of farewell…
      thank you for your thoughts…
